Greenhous Upper Heyford is looking for a reliable, organised and hardworking Compound Assistant to join our busy team.

As a Compound Assistant, you will play an important role in helping to keep the vehicle compound running smoothly. You will be responsible for assisting with the movement and organisation of vehicles across site, ensuring vehicles are kept in the correct locations and the compound is maintained to a high standard.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work and is able to work efficiently as part of a team.

Other duties may be required of the post holder in addition to those listed above and below, to ensure that the requirements of the business are met at all times.

Hours: 8.00 am to 5.00 pm, Monday to Friday with 30 minutes for lunch (unpaid), i.e. 42.5 hours per week.

Salary: £12.71 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the movement and positioning of vehicles around the site.

• Ensure vehicles are parked correctly in designated areas.

• Maintain an accurate record of vehicle movements and locations.

• Carry out basic checks on vehicles and report any damage or issues identified.

• Assist with vehicle arrivals and departures as required.

• Ensure vehicles are kept secure and keys are managed in accordance with company procedures.

• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised vehicle compound.

• Support the Arrivals Inspection and vehicle preparation teams where required.

• Assist with general compound duties and site maintenance.

• Follow all company health and safety procedures at all times.

• Ensure vehicles are handled safely and with care.

• Work closely with colleagues to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the compound.

• Carry out any other reasonable duties required to support the business.

Ideally, we are looking for:

• Previous experience within a vehicle compound, logistics, transport or automotive environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

• A full UK driving licence is essential.

• A good knowledge and interest in vehicles.

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

• A reliable and responsible approach to work.

• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

• Good communication skills.

• The ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting the wider team.

• The ability to work in a busy, fast-paced environment.
